What Is That To You?πŸ‘€

Happy Easter to you my dear reader!! Thanks for giving meaning to my writing of what the Lord lays on my heart. Without you, these posts would not mean much really.

If you haven't been off on some other planet, you know that the world is in dire need of saving right now. The good news is that the provision for that salvation was made over 2000 years ago and that's what this season's about really😁😁.

I was finishing a movie with the fam which we started yesterday "The Life of Jesus", a movie about Jesus based on John's gospel and today something jumped at me that Jesus said. He said "...what is that to you...?"

Peter asked Jesus, “What about him, Lord?” Jesus replied, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? As for you, follow me.”
John 21:21‭-‬22 NLT

Jesus had just told Peter a bit about the things he would suffer for His sake and how he would die. Peter saw John, the disciple Jesus loved (as he was often called) and asked Jesus about his (John's) fate. Jesus asked him in a more polite way "what's your business with the assignment I have called him to?". This hit me.

How many of us believers compare our journey to others' and even neglect that to which we are called?. God has called you to write or sing or dance or act for His purposes but you are more concerned about what His assignment to someone else is. Face your work! This is an exam hallπŸ‘€.

Brethren, we only do ourselves harm when we begin to compare our perception of another's calling (for only the one who was called knows for sure what the calling is) to our own calling. We either end up deflated or inflated. Deflated because we see their calling as more prestigious or inflated because we believe ours is more spectacular. Either way, harm is done to your blameless pursuit of your assignment and hence puts your reward at risk.

In this season of new beginnings, begin again with the Master. Ask Him to forgive you for being less concerned with what He has given you and comparing and seeking to be sent where He did not send you. Ask for grace to realign, refocus and refire. He will hear and He will answer.

Dear Lord, help us, Your children for we are hopeless and helpless without You. You are our Source and Lord, You are our Sauce. You make the difference in us. It is our hearts' desire that you rebirth us this season. Bring to life everything good that's dead or dying. Rekindle Your fire in us and set our altars on fire again that we may burn for You like never before and like we never knew possible. This and everything else we should have asked, we ask in the name of the Risen Saviour, Jesus Christ (amen).
