The Cover Up

Good evening my highly-esteeemed reader. I bring you greetings from the Father, our Lord Jesus Christ and the ever-relevant Holy Spirit. I type this message with a joyful yet heavy heart.

I'm overjoyed because I start a new year of my life today 🎉🎉 but my heart is heavy because the message I'm about to share is not likely to be what you want to hear unless Abba has begun work in you already.

For a long time, I have been weighed down, bothered, perplexed and just plain disgusted at something I have seen everywhere on social media. What I'm about to say may shock you or come across as inconsequential but the truth is it's a SERIOUS matter.

My sisters will have to forgive my facing them tonight as the issue mostly relates to them and hence the need to direct this at/to them. It's *drumroll* indecent dressing and then sharing of indecent pictures and videos on social media.

I may sound somewhat harsh in this post but I assure you that it is love and deep concern as well as the passion for righting wrongs that motivate this.

Let's dive right in. I know for a fact that you have come across girls who post pictures that are unjustifiable; pictures that their cameras should never have been done the dishonour of processing. Am I right? Yes.

I think it's sad how you can barely go through 10 pictures or stories and find 4 that are easy on a man's eyes and mind. My sister cover up! Not just for your sake but for God's sake and for the sake of all that is good and right.

"I'm comfortable in loose clothing😞", "it's my life, you can't tell me what to do besides people will still talk😒", "the ones that cover up are the real lascivious ones😩", "why can't I show my beautiful body to the world?🔥".

If you're still reading, thank God for you! Now let me quickly open your eyes to some truths that you may not know or may have chosen to ignore.
1. It is not your life : Jesus died for you and YOU CANNOT SHAME HIM BY YOUR ACTIONS AND INACTIONS and get His best to put it mildly.
2. Certain things are harmless when viewed on the surface but venturing deeper could have great and terrible effects. We should learn to be our brothers' keepers. Don't cause another to sin as you exercise "your freedom". The Bible says the freedom we have is not unto lawlessness but it's freedom to serve God(on/off/with social media my friend).
3. It is better to be spoken ill of for a good cause than for a bad one. Peter said how is it anything special if you chop insults or cane for the wrong you do? The joy of persecution is in suffering  for doing right.

Don't dress like a slut (forgive my language) because people say the decently-dressed ones are the worst. Who are you fooling?

Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit! Do not expose it or be an accomplice(active or passive) to the devil in his war against the minds of men. Please I beg you, assess your wardrobe and let God speak to you. Don't push people further to hell.

Let me let you in on a little secret. That God-fearing brother you want; the one who will be faithful to you must not be motivated by lust and that means He has to be in tune with the Holy Spirit.  Now it will be very difficult for him to approach you if you look like what you are not ; like what he's not looking for. Do yourself a favour and put on some clothes and some self-respect.

You cannot mislabel things and expect people to find what they're looking for. Stop the false advertising! You are expensive, Abba's treasure, His prized possession. Don't label yourself cheap in the name of putting on the expensive stuff please!

God will help us in Jesus' name.

Daddy thank you for your children. Thank you for the love that you constantly shower on us. Thank you because you see us as treasures of inestimable value. Help us to realise that our true sense of worth comes from You and not the number of likes on IG or perverts leaving comments on our pictures. Help us to represent you responsibly even though that's not the popular thing. Just help us to do right by You and our fellow men in Jesus' name(amen)😇.
