Independence For/From What?πŸ€”

Heyy heyy heyy!!!! Good evening! It's a new month! and a new year for Nigeria!(yayyyyyy us!). I had a much deserved day of rest today (mehn I was tired😩) so it's highly likely I haven't wished you a happy independence day😆. Happy Independence day to my Nigerian readers 🎉🎉

It's a time to be thankful to our God for all He's done for us individually and especially as Nigeria. It's been Him alone!😭.

On to business! So as you're already aware, today's Independence day and so our discussion is in that spirit💃. As a matter of fact, my initial title was "Why Independence?🤔". That may not be the title now but we're still headed in that direction🛫.

The world celebrates independence whether it be national or personal, yes?. You may never have thought deeply about it and may not even know why so allow me to enlighten you a bit.

You may want to write this down 😆 "The essence or necessity of independence stems from the unreliability of what is/was depended on". You need to be independent because you cannot count on anyone else to deliver what you need 100% of the time. To be honest, you can't even count on yourself sometimes so you need to ask for help 😩.

All I've said so far is, we're encouraged to be independent so as not to be disappointed by shortcomings of other people or systems🖋. It's from that sort of thinking that we are encouraged to have plans A-Z.

That's all introductory.  I'm here to tell you that as a TRUE Christian, you cannot afford to be "independent" in the real sense of the word and truth be told, you shouldn't want to.

"Chaii, this guy has come again with his spiritual/spiricoco nonsense". Relax fam, I'm going somewhere. Remember how I said a few lines up that if you could count on something or someone 100%, all of the time then independence would be redundant!🗣.

"Ehn but but..." But nothing. Ladies and gentlemen allow me to present/introduce to you the ONE SURE Help and Source in the person of JESUS. Trust me you don't want to be independent of/from Jesus and like I said you can't. The air you breathe isn't just His, it's Him. The "natural" things like going to bed and waking the next day and such are all tied to Him.

What people experience or subscribe to is the delusional position that they can live without Jesus (I already disproved that). All you can obtain by living like that is less than ideal for God's children.

Learn to depend on God for everything. I'm not saying fold your arms and leave it all to God but be conscious that even the things that you think you do by yourself, you're able to do ONLY by His enablement😊. Who told you that your body parts must move when you want to move them? 😒 If you've experienced a cut in the circulation of blood to your leg before (as I'm sure you have👀), it's not too hard to imagine trying to move your body with no response.

‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’
Acts17:28 NIV

God is your source of life, independence from Him (impossible as it is) would invariably mean that you die so don't try(osheyy that rhymed😎). You shouldn't want to be independent because you don't NEED to be as my God can NEVER fail. He keeps it💯
God comes through like bangdadadang!😎. He's not regular!

Abba, we thank you that You are our Source and Sustainer, our very present Help in time of trouble and need (which is always). We love you, we bless you for Nigeria and Nigerians all over. We celebrate our independence from the world by proclaiming our total dependence on You. Help us when push comes to shove not to try to fight in our own strength but rest in the assurance that we fight not FOR victory but FROM victory.  We honour You Lord and we ask that You teach us Your way which is the only Way to go in Jesus' name we pray (amen).

Thank you for reading to this point,I love you! Special shalla to Dam Dam for asking me where today's post was earlier 😂.  Enjoy your week beloved and rest in God even as you work. Shalom 😇
