Trust and Obey?

Hey there! Greetings from above😁. I trust you had an awesome week and weekend. It's a new month so happy New month to you my favourite reader😁.

"Trust and Obey?". Hmm where did that come from?. Let's have the backstory shall we?. Here we go 😊. I was quite bothered earlier today when I hadn't heard from my bestie (the Holy Spirit😊) what I'd write on this evening. This was unusual for me because usually it hit me during the week what I would write on during the weekend.

Now it's not that I couldn't hear the Holy Spirit; I could. He just didn't say anything about the blog post for the week. I asked Him "bros how far naa? What will I write about today" and He said and I quote "You don't worry about that. It will hit you when the time is right. Trust me".

A few more times I asked Him and He answered me differently every time but all His replies had one thing in common T R U S T😥. This was actually easy to do because I've gotten better at trusting Him in recent time. Eventually He dropped an old hymn title "Trust and Obey" and presto! I knew that was it as in I just knew it! 🕺🕺

"So what about Trust and Obey oga?". To the ordinary mind it's a hymn that has been sung so poorly one too many times but slow down and let's review the lines of the popular first verse one at a time.

"When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word"

That line implies that it's possible to NOT walk with the Lord (first and foremost) but when we do walk with the Lord and in the light of His word what happens?

"What a glory He sheds on our way"

There's the answer! God's glory on your way(that's on everything you do my friend😊).

Okay next part says :

"While we do His good will He abides with us still and with all who will trust and obey"

WHILE we do His good will He abides with us still. When you do what God says to you to do in His word(spoken or written), He abides with you.

Oya let us sing the chorus:

Trust and Obey
For there's no other way
To be happy in Jesus
But to trust and Obey.

Aaaaaaaaaameeennnnnnnn😉

If you didn't sing ehn then obedience may be harder for you than I thought 😂

The Holy Spirit wants me to let someone(maybe you😉) be reminded of the importance of trusting and obeying Him. It's the only way to be happy in Jesus not because Jesus deprives you of joy if you don't trust and obey Him but because you deprive yourself of a lot of opportunities to see God in action by your lack of faith/trust in Him which of course translates to not obeying Him at the end of the day.

"But it's hard naaw". My dear friend, trust is built and strengthened in hard situations💪. If I said to you "the sun will rise tomorrow, trust me", it wouldn't be hard to do because you've seen it over and over but if I said to you that I would give you a billion dollars tomorrow morning if you could give me five thousand naira today, would you be able to?. If you were I'd be amazed. 👈That right there is the kind of trust God seeks and asks of us : "Foolish trust" . The "are you okay upstairs" kind of trust

Imagine if Peter didn't trust Jesus enough to step out of the boat and he didn't walk on water, we'd be here thinking only Jesus could do it👀 but he had trust in Jesus and I'm sure all the other apostles respected him for it or imagine if he didn't go and fish to get money for their taxes, we'd have one less miracle to discuss.

Point is if you don't trust Him enough to act on His "foolish" instructions then yo
u miss the chance to see and experience the miraculous so trust and obey mon ami(e). As you go into this week let your motto be "God I trust and His Word I obey". Be blessed 🤗

Daddy daddy we love You and we love You and oh yeah we love You. We thank you for a new month and a new week. Several opportunities to exercise our faith and trust in you await us in the near future. Help us to trust You above common sense that we may obtain YOUR best which is THE best there is in Jesus' name we ask. Amen

Well enjoy your week and just trust and obey. Au revoir mon ami(e), à la prochaine (that translates good bye my friend, see you next time 😉). Shalom😇
