God Is Light...So Are You😁

Hello there! I trust your weekend is winding down nicely wherever in the world you are reading from. I pray that as you read this, the LORD Himself will reveal to you, truth that will set you free in Jesus' name.

God is Light!!!!! "Okay? Bros we know na, wetin happen?". You may know that God is light but I ask you, how much do you know about light? 👀.

Interesting fact- light has no shadow. I had heard this before and many times too but it did not click until one day I struck a match and looked at the image on the wall. The shadow of the match stick was present but where was the shadow of the light(fire)? It was not there because no darkness can come of light. When Light comes, darkness disappears.

We heard the true teaching from God. Now we tell it to you: God is light, and in him there is no darkness.

1 John 1:5 ERV

There is no darkness in God. He has no shadow PERIODDDDDDD!!!

Another interesting concept on light- it is the medium through which darkness is revealed in other objects. When there is no light, there can be no shadow. The presence of light reveals the darkness (like seen with objects and shadows).  Do you still wonder why when you spend time in God's presnece, He reveals to you the darkness of your life? - Those areas you did not know where there because you were in the dark for so long? That's what His presence does! It shows us what's not light in us. In other words, spend more time with Him and you will know what you need to work on.

Remember Jesus called us believers the light of the world in Matthew 5:14

“You are the light that shines for the world to see. You are like a city built on a hill that cannot be hidden".

But wait? If I am light how come I have darkness still? Well interesting fact - light can have a shadow in the presence of greater light 👀. Scripture tells us that when we stay with God, our darkness fades and we come closer and closer to being like the LIGHT Himself .

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

2 Corinthians 3:18 KJV

Continuous fellowship with God will cause dark areas of your life to give way so keep at it if you do it and start if you have not.

Being the light also means that you shine and reveal(expose) darkness in the world. Because of you, people should see the evil in the world (by contrast). People should look at you son/daughter of the Light and be uncomfortable with their darkness. They should seek to know what(or better put, Who) makes the difference in you and that curiosity ultimately should lead them to Christ who is the perfect revelation of the Father.

Dear God, we come before You and thank You for who You are to us - the Source of Light and Glory. We ask You to help us to be more like You and yearn to spend more time in Your presence so that we may go out and day by day, be better images of You in Jesus' name (amen)
